My '04 Baja X revs right to the limiter in 5th. The tach vibrates around some but it looks like 7900-8000. I know for sure if it had one tooth small rear sprocket, I'd get at least a few more mph. It hits the limiter going up hill even. It sucks because it's only as fast top speed as my best friend's Raptor. In fact, if I leave off a little bit and just barley kiss the limiter, it seems just a little faster.
I'm getting new tires today, so they might be a touch taller and that too might make the difference.
Oh yeah, I weigh 140 lbs. completely ready to ride. Don't be knockin' the lightweights out there, I'll whip anyone in my area!!

On flat loose gravel, mine will hit the stock limiter in fifth. Stock gears, stock tires, with me at about 280. Stock front a-arms too, that "twitchy steering" really shines at those speeds and on that surface. I like to hold it pinned, that's why I'm hesitant to get a CDI without a rev limiter.

Just by my experience from all the different gearing/tires setups i have tried i doubt you would ever rev past 8500 rpm. Mine with 14/40/22" Razrs (which are about 2" taller than my 22" XCTs) it would max out at 8000, with 15/40 about 7500. Right now with my 22" XCTs/15/42 it will crank 8200. I weigh 190 lbs (dry weight).
