I'm not one of you DS guys, but it's really interesting reading, you guy as a group are way out ahead of any other brand as far as guy knowing what they have, need or want.
In my mind a stroker should always be better, as said above, same power at less RPM's.
I would rather miss a shift @ 8,000 than 12,000

I am a duner that likes to drag now and then. The stroker is awesome.
The power is so linear you honestly wouldn't believe it. You really don't feel the speed as much because there is no 2-stroke hit in the power. But, duning is just awesome. I'm having more fun than I ever have. Only problem is I have to stop more to let the rest of the guys catch up

fourth i would say the preacher(Ron is the no one ds eng builder by some margin)
Fifth i have a preacher built ds yard sale leftover dumpster digging azz kick name taking pami 760 that no 720 will ever touch or 730 now if you were to stroke it thats a dfferent story stroking is mean and the most potent bike i have seen to this date(was ignoring jeff here) was a 733 stroker bad to the bone it was

(this may be bold, but I dont care)Gas to gas, motor to motor, (no power adders) I will put my money on my 720 (preacher built from top to bottom) against any stroker DS 760-830(on gas) up a steep hill, maybe even on the flats. I let Preacher do his own thing with this particular motor. For some odd reason this preacher motor sure feels like a stroker And Mr Hp has impressed me with some things on the way also. Im happy with my gas motor. This motor (on gas) pulled Punisher up comp hill @ Dumont in 4th w/ 17- 40 with ease.

Yes i hear your preacher built is fast and no dought it will lay amongest the tops but there are ds 760's that are putting out 72miles per at olds and thats about five miles faster than the biggest at jan's event were doing i hear there may be one at sand mt memorial day and ill bet it owns the hill besides i know there will be a sand car there that fears no ds

being able to hold power at high RPM helps with certain sand setups (wheelspin, wheelspeed), probably not much with a 300 foot dirt setup. power at high RPM also helps for a longer drag race such as quarter mile. the high torque low reving american motorcycle might have a slight advantage off the line over a high power high reving japanese motorcycle, but at the far end of the 1/4 mile the high RPM power usually wins the race.

My 730 is doing great, Mario is still a little faster than me, but I hope to catch him soon. He did give me some great tips on gearing that have worked out very well. I am now in the process of switching to Alchohol/Nitro. Based on other bikes I have been racing, I have picked up around 6 bike lengths with my new kit and I hope to pick up a few more with the new fuel. I hope to have some new dyno runs up soon.
