Yeah that might be my ultimate fix... I'll see if the guy can tap it too. I'll pay 100-200 to fix it....as long as it's strong and does a good job holding the case guard in place.

A heavy duty case saver is a good way to go. The stock one is not good. Been there, done that.

My buddy here in Denver owns a aluminum weld and fab shop and does that kind of repair all the time on car motors and transmissions (get damaged in wrecks) I would call around and find a shop that does that work, if your having trouble finding one calla wrecking yard and ask them where they send there take outs for repair. Weld shop should have the taps and be able to do the whole deal, bring them a case saver or chain guard to pattern the hole locations from. I would say the magneto cover will have to be removed to be repaired

Yo, MisterHP what is a "geneisis kit"

I found a place and was going to e-mail him the pics. Said he can tig weld and my DS buddy had some work done by him on his DS (welded tabs on the frame so the seat doesn't sink, near the gas tank). However the e-mail address he sent me didn't go thru. I will call him tomorrow and ask him to spell it out for me. Maybe in two weeks I'll get the beast running.

It ripped the bolts right out of the case.
