Default clutch ?

Im trying to adjust my clutch. With slack it doesnt pull the release lever far enough. If i understand
you need slack so the clutch doesnt drag.I think this is why i had to change my clutch.

My ? is. Can i move the release lever past the recomended specs a little to get the right adjustment?
If not please help with any available wisdom.
Thanks for the help.

I did do the search but not much related to the release lever.

you have to have between 68 and 75 mm gap with the cable disconnected, I have heard of guys moving the actuating lever 180 degrees cause they have stripped the teeth on the bottom where it meshes with the slined shaft on the pressure plate instead of buyinh a new actuator shaft seeing as how you on use 1/3 of the shafts splines anyway, if you need a pic atvaddict of where you have to measure your gap from let me know I will try to find one

lol that is my cb handle, I drive truck over the road for a living but have been off since july of 03, had back surgery, let us know if it works out for you, make sure you dont push back on the actuating lever towards the rear if the bearing is hot like the manual says it will cause the bearing to be pushed out of the pressure plate and I have heard it its a pain to get back in,
