Default Trick to getting off stock sprocket hub?

Ok, so whats the trick? Ive been struggling with snap-ring pliers for a while now and i cant seem to see an easy way to get off those snap-rings, anyone got any ideas?

Adam I feel your pain!! The Snap ring is a big problem. The normal snap ring tools wont spread it far enough apart to let it slide off. Get a buddy or a friend to help. Have them open the snap ring as far as possible with a normal size snap ring tool, while you slide a flat head screw driver in between the grove for the snap ring and the snap ring itself. Then use another screw driver to work the snap ring off. ITs not the best way but it worked for me.

Or you could get the right size of snapring pliers... Thats what I finaly did. Now it's a piece of cake[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Your right donal!! The best way is to purchase the right snap ring pliers. But I was changing mine at midnight with no choice but to make do.

I found mine at NAPA auto parts. You also can get them thru snap-on. kinda spendy though.

Default Trick to getting off stock sprocket hub?

Hey guys i could use that size if any one knows.I adjusted my chain when i was riding.Apparently
the little rubber gasket fell down and left a nice gap.Now im doing some preventitive maintenance.
I was riding some sandy muddy trails.
