The sand at Sand Mt. will be wet until mid April and real heavy. . . you don't need paddles and actually with how heavy the sand is right now you'll probably do better without them as you'll bog down with stock bikes.

Tell your buddy in a sarcastic way that the bike shop guys are, "so smart" and "they know everything about riding" and "have complete knowledge about all bikes and their reliability". Then take him into the Honda shop and ask him to tell the guys that he is looking at buying a 450R and a YFZ450 and he doesn't know which one he should get. . .

You won't be able to get your buddy to shut-up about how stupid he thinks these guys are after listening to someone tell him how his bike isn't the best.

you could also tell him his bike sucks and he should probably stay home anyway, as he would only slow you down...or maybe challenge him to a few hill climbs for bragging rights..
