Default DS650 Spark Plug Odd Firing?

I was changing out the plugs on my ds the other day and noticed that the inside plug is firing correctly. The outside plug was dripping wet. I don't know anything about this question, in fact I don't know why it was even built with two plugs. Any info would be appreciated. I just noticed it didn't seem to be running quite right. Thanks guys.

(p.s. I'm still looking for a rear shock as well)

Put a good (gapped) plug in the boot not firing and then ground it to the motor and see if you get spark. If not change the plug wire and try. Its a start.

It has 2 plugs for improved combustion - another test is to check the resistance of the coils, both primary & secondary.

Another quick test is to swap plug wires - if the spark issue goes to the other plug you have narrowed it down to - plug cap, wire, or coil.

The wires just twist in - it is advisable to unscrew them once a year or so & snip off the green corroded portion (usually 1/4 is all that it needs) and then reattach making sure the center of the wire screws onto the brass peg inside the plug cap securely.

All good info. I was on the dyno the other day making changes and a coil stopped working during a cam swap. Lost 5hp on a 100hp race motor. It gave no warning and took a while to figure out where the power went.

Thanks, I'll swap the wires first and take it for a ride. I've got to find a rear shock soon.
