04' DS650 won't shift ( neutral switch ?? )
After sitting for awhile, I desided to break out the DS and hit the creek. When I turned on the key switch, the neutral light did not come on, though I knew it was in neutral. I pulled in the clutch lever and cranked it. After a few attempts it fired up. The neutral light slowly started to glow and showed that it was indeed in neutral. I shifted into first ( as I did the bike jerked a little like the clutch wasn't fully catching ) and slowly crept off. When I tried to shift into second, but no-go.
I'm hoping that i dont have bent shift forks. Could it be the switch? And if so, could i just unhook it, remove it, or whatever - or would i have to replace it.
Also, where the hell is it??

Look for the wire that runs right in front of your oil filter. Follow it down to the screw, remove it, clean the area real well, replace the screw and ensure that you have it tight.
You should get a slight jerk or surge when you engage from neutral with the clutch lever pulled in. If it's a hard clunk adjust the tension at the lever. Simple fixes to issues that can cause headaches. Let us know if that doesn't work.
