Got the Lectron in
#21
<< The rod has threads on the end of it. If you want the carb richer, you srew the rod in and opposite for leaner. If you end up on a quarter turn or half turn, then you push up on the rod and twist it so that the rod's flat side is faceing towards the motor.
I think that is clear as mud

Yep, been there done that. I tried leaning it as much as two full turns and still spits and sputters when I take off. It clears up after I take off and get into the midrange of the motor.

Well, I got the bottom end dialed in today! What I don't understand is how? I had to richen it to make it work right!!! At first, I kept turning it counter-clockwise to make it leaner. I did this because of all the intake backfiring I was having it blew the carb off a time or two and there was a puddle of gas in the intake boot. Each and every counter-clockwise rotation would make it worse and worse. It would sputter very bad when i revved it up and got to the point where it wouldn't run anymore. Thats when I said screw it. And screw it I did, only this time clockwise, which the directions specifically shows as richening it. I had to turn it about 8 turns. Now it revs up fine and the bottom end is like a tractor again!!! The bad news is the plugs are black as the ace of spades. I might try and tune the power jet now and see how that works out. It runs terrific throughout the powerband except when I putt putt along it feels like it has a miss. It idles bad too, I can live with that for the time being though. The power increase was definitely worth the money.

Mine is the same way while putting and idleing. I think that might be normal. I remember a buddy of mine put a flat slide carb on his 900rr and it did the same thing.
Maybe knutz or someone can give so input.
