you can run synthetic oils but i woundn't waste the money, you won't notice any power gains if thats what you're after, i've changed to synthetic before and only to have oil leaks, changed back to conventional oil and the oil leaks stopped, also the possibly of clutch slippage, since the synthetic oils are slippery and have more additives, theirs no oil filters on your 250, you need to keep the oil changed often, every 20-25 hours .

Default synthetic oil????

After I broke the engine in on 10w40 Valvoline, I've been running Mobil 1 15w50 in my 250 Sport. I've had no problems with clutch slippage, or oil leaks. No more oil than it holds, I change mine more often. I go maybe 10-15 hours between changes.

Synthetic oil can cause leaks since it will disolve sludge and such left on seals that was keeping them from leaking. But the seal had to be worn in the first place.

I run that oil in both my quads, with no problems. Just my .02 worth.

Default synthetic oil????

in hot climate you should use a 15w-40 or 20w-50 motor oil and in
cold or cool climate use a 10w-30 or 10w-40 conventional motor oil.

this comes from your owners manual,

i would run ams oil for your syn oil but the one person is right you have no oil filter so you have to change it a little more .the automobile oil is okay but it is not wet "clutch compatable". my polaris came stock with sys oil i switched my recon to it and have not switched my eiger over to it yet.

I would save your money and just use Valvoline(or any other major brand) 10w-40. If you have some money to burn you can use Amsoil 10w-40 Motorcycle oil. Its what I use in my KTM. My Jetmoto's and Honda air cooled thumpers all use Valvoline 10w-40. I have never had a clutch or tranny related problem with them.

From what I understand, you are suppose to break it in using the regular and then it's a good idea to switch to synthetic after that. In my 150 gy6, I've been using the amsoil 4-stroke synthetic oil for motor sports. It says it's wet-clutch compatible. The quad has been running very smooth and won't overheat even though this thing is just fan-cooled. I haven't noticed any actual permormance improvement, but I figure I might as well keep using the stuff so the quad might last a while.

dont waste your money, regular oil is fine when these china motors decide to go there gonna go no matter what oil you put in them. if you change the oil like your suppose to it should last but then again they are from china.
