l have an 02 Suzuki Eiger 400 and need new tires. Looking at either the Gators or the Mudlites in the 25 inch size. l know the Gaters are heavier but l hear they have a tougher rubber for punctures. l also hear nothing but good things about Mudlites so l'm torn between which ones to buy.

I would go Mudlites
But I would go 26x10x12XL all around as their sizes run a bit on the small size...
I have 26" XL mudlites on my Kodiak 450 and they are only 25 1/4 inches tall with 3LBS of air
They are a good all around tire
Excellent in snow and mud
And as smooth as it gets on the hard packed
But def go 26" XL
You wont be disappointed
I am not a fan of the Gators
Not as good all around and rough
Another option you may want to check out is Swamp Lites
Around the same price as the Mudlite XL's

 

Yammy450 hit a home run. Loved my mudlites on my last ATV. Am buying some now for my Rincon.

Great in the snow and mud.

I am picking up a set of swamp lites very soon (as I have had mudlites for years now and need a change)
I dont know wether to go 27x10x12 all around or get the 10's for the front and 12's for the back...

What do you guys think?

 

If you go smaller in the front it might be slightly easier to turn and the rut it creates is a little smaller so the back tires have more to grab.

With that said, I think 12in all around would look cool.

Both tires are good, my friend has 25" Gators and I have the 25" Mudlite XLs. I like the Mud lite XLs vs the Mudlite ATs because even half wore out XLs look like brand new ATs .LOL

 

I absolutely LOVE my Swamp Lites. If they can push my little 250cc atv through a watery clay filled swamp with only 2x4, they would work amazing on a 4x4. Just make sure you buy a 26" tall Swamp Lite at least...the 25" Swamp Lites only have a 3/4" deep lug, when my 22" have a 1" deep lug. The Swamp Lites seem to grab well on all terrains, and if they clog up with mud, give the throttle a tap and they will spin the mud right off of them. They wear pretty well too. I cant give you a milage figure but I've had mine since last June and have driven just about everyday since I got them. I also take a spin or two around my neighborhood after I come out of the woods, but that's a bad habbit, I gotta stop that. Other than that, they do tend to dig ruts fast, so if you're stuck, you're stuck. Don't keep hitting the throttle trying to make your ATV go anywhere, because with the size ruts I have diggin, it's hard to drive throught them anymore. As long as you have 4x4 though, you won't get stuck very often, I guarentee that. They have a smooth ride but can become a bit wobbly on the road, unless you have the tire balanced. Although they have more than enough traction, with a push of the throttle, you can still break open the rearend and drift...=) They are able to climb over logs fairly easily and I've had no problem with climbing over rocks. Water crossings are a breeze, as are hard packed trails. Hope this helps!

 

I have 4 ITP Mudlites for sale. (2) 28x12x12 and (2) 28x10x12. They have only been ridden on 3 short rides and never on pavement. There are no holes plugs or anything wrong with them. They have about 95% tread left or better. I have pictures as well. If interested email me at hjlancas@olemiss.
