I agree with yfzblu, I think suzuki might not sell there 450's as well, because the Z has everything most will need. That is unless zuki's 450 is something really different and spectacular, which I doubt it wil be that different from the other two 450's.

All that would do is add 13lbs. to the weight...Honda already had to put on a kickstarter to reduce weight...Adding reverse would be frivilous...They had to do it to the EX keep up with the Z...Although If I were honda, I would have added reverse, and put a bigger carb on the thing...thats just my .02....Hondas REAL mistake was pricing the quad the same as the z400...
I think Hondas mistake was not giving the EX a liquid cooled engine, keep it all the same, just give it a new head. Then I think they could have bumped the price up without looking like cheap bastards.

What would be the point of adding liquid cooling without changing anything else? You'd just have the weight of a water pump, radiator and coolant for no gain whatsoever. Does anyone have a problem with their stock EX's overheating as it is? Air cooled is just fine for that motor and has been for many years.

That would be EXTREMELY stupid on suzukis part if they replaced the 400 with the 450...Suzuki found a real Niche within 400 enthusiasts, and has done an awesome job of shutting down honda, and limiting sales of the TRX400ex. If they replaced the z400 with the 450z, suzuki better be damn sure that their 450 is noticibley better than the others, to make up for lost z400 sales.

They won't get rid of the Z for many years to come. Not sayin this because I own one, but the sales are great on these because it is just about the best all around bike. Not really the best at everything, just real good at it. That is why I bought one over a 450 is because the riding we do is so versitile, always something different, track, trail, etc.

Off the line it will stay with them until it hits about 3rd, then they gradually pull me. The web cam I have in it is a low-mid range cam, so it has monster torque. But also my jetting is a little rich all of a sudden, and this time last year it was on the money. But I would rather be a little rich so it stays nice and cool for reliabilty reasons.

I have come to relize that my 440 is not a big dog no more that newer technological bikes have come out in the last few years. It was nice when my main competion was a raptor, I could hold my own against lightly modified ones, now I just use it for trails, mainly. That and the GF is in love with it.
