I read that the the 07 Rancher is rated at 26horsepower.

How do they rate factory power?
Is that at the wheels?

 

Naa I hardly doubt its got 26 hp more like 17-20 perhaps and they give the hp rating at the crank not the rear so you can deduct a few hp because of that..

 

thats pretty diapointing i was told my new king quad 450 has 34

Im not 100% sure but i think that 34 hp is around what a 660 rap makes stock form most 400 sport< quads run high 20 low 30 my 350 stock i know for sure runs 20-22 hp.. as of your 450 i couldnt be sure but im sure its in the mid to high twenty's range.

 

well factory suzuki says it 34, and my dad has polaris 600 that produces 42. where do u get these figures from a 660 with around thirty u are so way off. my blaster had 17. but if ur talking dnyo stuff. who cares what dnyo stuff says. think in car sense. if a car goes 0-60 in 4 seconds, and is quoted 400 hp. and some one dnyo's it and it does like 350. who frigan cares what the wheels produce. if the crank produces 400. I look at atv's at 2 things how fast it will get up anfd go. and what deep crap it will get out of. everything else is just normal stuff. like handling etc.

 

Well alot likes to exaggerate hp number's and as for the hp number of a 660 i got it from looking around on the yam side it seems to be the most used number by people that seem to know and as for a blaster it's a 2-stroke as you know and a sport quad so it would have higher hp number's even though it being a smaller atv it is alot easier to push more juice out of a 2 stroke from what i see 50 plus hp isnt too hard to get from a banshee with little money put into it were as you get a 660 rap its going to get deeper in your pockets when pushing it to the 50 plus number,s. And about the dealer they will allways tell you these nice big number's to hiKE you up id figure 90% of them have not a clue of realistic hp number's they just sell atv's and parts... But do not get me wrong go to the yamaha side and ask around and get about 10 hits on a thread and see for yourself...

yep...

bhp - brake horsepower = at the crank before the loss between the motor and the wheels...
