I guess I've never had mine on a smooth and straight run long enough to really top out on, but I would guess 63ish for stock...

The EFI is very responsive, and runs quite well. Mainly you will notice the ride is MUCH smoother and you will find yourself riding over rough and rocky trails way faster, without even realizing it. There is a bit more body roll than on a SRA machine, and you may find yourself leaning your body a bit more on sweepers and off camber stuff.

Also, on really steep decents, there really isn't engine braking below about 11 mph, so you will likely find yourself having to use the brakes in those situations.

The Rincon is a very different machine from the Rancher, and some people love them and some people don't.

I'd be sure to get a decent ride on one before signing the papers to make sure it's the machine you want.

I guess I have to ask- what kind of problems has the ES been having?

I've seen a few posts on ES problems, but overall they seem reliable.

If you otherwise like the Rancher, maybe trying to get the ES sorted out and working reliable might be worthwhile.

Do you mean ESP? An ES Rancher is just like a manual shift except there is an electric motor that does the shifting instead of your foot. The Rincon has a completely different system. It is like your car's transmission. I have not heard of any issues since the 2003 model that had some leaking 0-rings.

No, I meant what's up with ridered28's 420ES Rancher, where he says he's getting rid of the Rancher and getting a Rincon because he's tired of the ES breaking...

When first had the problem it wouldnt shift into reverse and you also couldnt shift down when you were on the brakes. I took it to the dealer got it serviced and fixed. The guy told me that there was water in the electricals and he said don't go in water above 8". I didnt care at first but than it happened again. So thats why I want a rincon because there more reliable. Everyone is complaining about the 07 rancher. Its happened to a lot of people. Its just a really poor design.

Man, that's a pain. I hadn't heard of widespread complaints....

You might try unlocking/disconnecting all the electric connectors you can find, make sure they are all clean, and give each one a good blob of dialectric grease.
