Default Speedometer and shifting problems with a 01' 350 Honda Rancher

Well I bought a 01' Honda Rancher about a month ago and recently I have had issues with the electronic shifting. Everything will work fine for a while but after riding it for a bit the speedometer will read zero and I will not be able to shift out of the gear that I am in. All of the information that I found said that it was the angle sensor, so I went a head and but a good new one in. But alas the problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

The speed sensor is 1 of the inputs for the ESP .. I would first check the speed sensor coupler for water/moisture , if it is clean the sensor is probably faulty ..
