Before changing a CDI you must do the tests at the CDI plug. Is the earth lead (green) earthed? The manual gives resistance readings for the trigger coil and alternator wires, I prefer using the voltage they produce when spun on the starter, i,e, if the alternator wire (yellow I think) is producing AC volts, the stator is OK, same with trigger coil wire. Does the ignition wire give 12v with ignition on. I think the kill wire (black/white) is earth to run on the 300, but whichever, it is earthed one way or t'other with the ignition key. You have changed the coil so no point in ohming that wire. That leaves the neutral wire, no idea on that one as Honda kept changing, earthed when in neutral, earthed when not in neutral, I think it was live for one CDI. Which also begs the question, which CDI have you bought, and which should you have bought? As Honda made at least four different CDIs for the 300.
