2001 250 Recon doesn't shut off
I have a 01 Recon that won't shut off. Turn the key, lights turn off, but the bike doesn't. Same with the kill switch, so I just adjust the idle till it dies. I just got the bike from a older fellow and it had been sitting up for years. I put new clutches in it last week and I had the bike standing straight up during the whole process. Drove it for two days after and no issues with anything. But within the past few days I noticed that the battery has a draw on it and now it won't shut off. I'm assuming these two are related because the power isn't being killed.
I haven't had time to check it, but this sounds like something that could be common, I just wanted to ask before I had to trace all of this out and hunt down a wiring diagram. Thanks in advance.

The Recon has an "old school" AC CDI ignition system, and needs a kill wire from the CDI to the ignition switch to kill the spark. So that wire is broken somewhere, or the switch is at fault. Fairly sure it will be a black/white wire from CDI to switches, and a green from switches to earth. A battery drain shouldn't be anything to do with the ignition circuit, unless the ignition switch is faulty. Drains are usually the voltage regulator going wrong. Disconnect the reg and see if the drain disappears.
