Taurus 24/7 .45 acp loading issues
Hello,
I saw your post and had to comment. The ammo you discussed is the "corobon powerball".
As far as loading goes I have the 9mm and it feeds 18 rounds perfectly (17+1). Not many holster though, I modified a ruger 97 holster to work. And the generic nylon ones work pretty well.

Little Mike & others,
Just an update on the Taurus 24/7 .45 feeding problem I had at first. I made sure the ramp was clean & polished, switched to Winchester 45 auto hollow points, and shot 150 rounds with no glitches. Good news! Also, the odd casing marks and firing pin marks are much less visible now, if not gone. Breaking the gun in with 300 rounds seems to have really made a big difference (and good cleaning).

thank god, im shooting 1955 military issue fmj through mine filthiest damn bullets i have ever seen, i still feel the cleaning is excessive compared to my 1911 kimber, but if the casing marks go away along with the feeding issues, i'll be happy
just need a holster now
Rhett are you shooting a full 12 round clip every single time?

No, sorry, while some of mag loads were 12, with most I loaded 10 or 11 to save my fingers a little trouble. I'm still looking at some ways to work on this issue (I've contacted Wolff springs about mag springs, etc.), and I'll be glad when its behind me. Hey-- lets face it, we're the guinea pigs for a new model. It will probably end up being a great gun that people love, but the first year buyers get to work out the kinks!

A magazine loader will save your fingers and time.

Yeah, I've noticed the accuracy thing with the sights. It seems to be O.K. except the first couple of shooting sessions I'd throw up dirt under the target! By putting the white dot ON or just OVER my intended target (rather than immediately below), I correct for this. Yes, the double action is not going to win me any marksmanship championships, but I bought this gun totally for self-defense. In a way, I'm starting to like it, and it's "flinch proof" in a bad situation. I'm sure some of you guys would disagree (or have had more tactical training), but I can see the wisdom of double action in an adrenalin packed "Honey I think I heard something downstairs!" in the middle of the night. I don't want to be startled into setting off that light single action when I didn't mean to! At least with double action, you have to DECIDE to pull that trigger.
Hey, while neither of us have found a holster yet (thanks for everyone's suggestions on this), at least the 24/7 is "snag free", unlike most handguns, so pockets and waistbands are an informal carry option for the time being.

Rhet i completely agree with the trigger weight, i also bought the gun for defense, my kimber trigger is like a pound, i was practing the other day with both, in all honestly i have trained my self extremly well to keep my finger off the trigger when pulling the gun out, but i'll tell ya what u get near the trigger on the kimber u'll blow your foot off. i agree you need to decide to shoot the tarus which in an adreline rush and belive me it is, i allready lived through it once, that 5 pound pull will feel like a half pound.
my sights aren't that low they are about 1-2 in. low at about 15- 20 yards, not a massive deal i will prolly shim it a bit , i really don't like doing kentucky windage to fix a problem. i need to get out and shoot more been way to busy.

Little Bill,
I just ordered a Bianchi 7500 AccuMold Paddle Holster for the 24/7. It was 43.99 at www.holstersupply.com
Looks like it will be pretty secure, and suits my needs. I haven't actually held one in my hands and placed the 24/7 in it, so...we'll have to see if online advertising is true or not when UPS arrives!
