OleManMoses,
Hey, I am new to forums and am curious what a Bump is.
Anyway on a nother note I installed the Dynojet needle set last weekend. It is 80 thousandths shorter than the stock needle. Interesting since you said that you shimmed yours 60 thousandths. I also has a lot quicker ramp on the needle where the stock one is pretty smooth. Man I have got to tell you it made a pretty big difference. I can now pull a wheelie on the 360. Do not get me wrong I have to give the handlebars a pretty good tug but it will pull a good 12 to 18 inches off the ground. I am going to my testing grounds this weekend to see what it will do in my 155ft test run. I had to use three washers on top of the needle that they sent. They send and recommend two but there was still some slop up and down in the needle. The third washer fixed that. I did not put their jets in as I felt I had the top end right with the understanding that it was rich from the factory and I leaned it out a little with the pipe. I did have one question for you. Mine seems to backfire when I let off the throttle at wide open throttle sometimes. I think I remember you saying that went away when you bought a bigger idle jet. I would appreciate your opinion on that. Take care.

Hey Mopar Man

you got my adrenaline pumping with that wheelie talk----Please keep us posted and if indeed you are pulling like you say---maybe I better get the dyno needle!!!

A bump is taking an old thread and putting back on top of the list to get attention---happens alot when someone asks a question and doesnt get a reply right away, they bump or hit reply again to take thread to top of forum.

I replaced my stock 35 pilot jet with a 38-----I bought the 38 and 40 pilot jets and was getting a lot of off the line bog with the 40
the 38 did take my backfiring away.

also not sure what you mean by "I had to use three washers on top of the needle that they sent. They send and recommend two but there was still some slop up and down in the needle. The third washer fixed that."

If the needle they sent you is shorter than stock---why did you need the shims???????

Olemanmoses,
You bet, it will pull a wheelie. I was shocked at first too but it does it with a good tug on the handle bars and a little power braking to get the rpms up. But I did those things too without the needle change and it would not work. What I mean is that the dynojet needle is not the same as the machined needle that is in our quads it is more like a 2-stroke that has a c clip and 5 adjustment points. The c clip allows for some needle to stick through above it and that is where you put the washers, to keep it from having any slop up and down between the c clip and the housing. It will out run my buddies 400 foreman now too.
later.

I'm in!
After reading this thread, I ordered a Dynojet kit tonight.
I hope it fixes my problem. No get-up-n-go from a dead stop. Whenever I hammer the throttle it wants to stall before taking off. Everything is fine if I ease into the gas, it's just that initial rush of fuel that seems to bog it down. I am currently running stock jets at aprox 400ft elevation.

I will post when I recieve and install the kit.

Should I go ahead and get a Twin Air too? Maybe the more efficient filter might help.

Thanks for the input guys.

welcome aboard Clay digger

I switch quite often between my stock air filter and the Twin air and feel absolutely no difference.

I also have a hesitation when hammering from a dead stop--Maybe not a hesitation, but I seem to travel about 10-15 feet and then it feels like it is kicking in-I thought it was from the black spring hooking up too hard and not allowing any clutch slip---will be very interested in hearing how the dynojet works for you. I do know that there is no way I can presently pull my front wheels up. But I will keep modifying until I can!!

Clay digger,
Always remember to measure the difference, not just seat of your pants feel. We sometimes hope for more than is possible. As for the bog at the start that is very unusual, mine does not get that at all. With a vaccuum carb bog at the start is unnacceptible. These quads come very lean from the factory and should not bog. I do not have the EPI spring in mine and I know that does change the dynamics of things. When you order the dyno jet be sure to ask for some extra washers as they only send 2 of them. Also keep in mind I have several other modifications that have all given more power.
Take care.
