Sounds like you would be a prime canidate for preloaded springs, I put progressives on the other day and it keeps the front up very nice. It is probably the best mod for ride quality you can do (since you have tires). Elkas are probably an even beter spring since they are dual rate and keep the ride a little softer (more expensive). Both are great for eliminating the nose dive the prairie is known for. progressives run $135 (cheaper on ebay though).

Even with Progressive springs installed, I still find it challenging to go thru some of the whoops sections during my XC races. No doubt about it, taking a 600 lb. plus sport/ute thru big whoops sections is not easy IMO.

I've watched the sport quads fly thru the whoops sections (where their tires seem to only make contact on the top of each little hill), but their quads are obviously much lighter and have more suspension travel than the Big Prairie or other big bore sport utes.

What I try to do is either: a) try to get a rythm going where I can smoothly jump from whoop to whoop or possibly skipping over 1 whoop section on each little jump... OR b) try to slow down and run thru them 1 at a time while blipping the throttle just before you hit the top of each little hill (this keeps the front end up upon each landing). Again, I am no expert and whoops are still challenging to me. Perhaps someone else with more XC or MX experience can give better advice.

Happy trails...

I run the Progressive on the fronts and they help big time with front end dive. On the rear shock your setting should be all the way out. This will help with rear end bounce a bit, but to totally get rid of the rear end bounce you'll need an Elka for the rear (There rear shock runs around 900 bucks) I found with the stock shock setting all the way out, and tryin to wheelie over most obstacles and through the whoops, I can live with a Bull Riding Bounce from time to time over dropping almost a grand for one shock. ~coop

i would like to get the progressives or elka's front spring's, but what ive found to be great for the rear is 4wd. many times ive said o my god this is going to hurt. with the 4wd going keep it mashed and the front tires will pull you out of a bad situation. beleave me i been their and it was very hairy.

MarylandATV- what do yo mean "run them all the way out"? is that the softest setting or the firmest?

softest setting. It will keep the rear from pushing off so hard.
