I got a 04 V-Force and its the best atv I've ever owned. Its got power out the a$$ and its nice not having to adjust and lube a damn chain! I wasn't convinced too much on the automatic system but when i rode the first new one out of the crate at our dealership, I WAS HOOKED. Went down to our warehouse a few months later and uncrated a virgin green one, hahaha. Only thing I hate about it is the tie rods (bent one into a perfect U!!) and the suspension bottoms out easily. Other than that its the most maintanence free machine ever. I installed the HMF dual black chrome exhaust, rejetted carbs 145 front, 147.5 rear. Added my own graphics and bought the carbon fiber aircleaner shroud and the gas cap cover (love the carbon fiber). Got the DG nerf's, Front and rear bumpers. All of them are the DG Fat Series which is a must on the V-Force cause its so big. Bought ITP Baja rims for the stock tires, Bought the T-9 rear rims to mount my ITP 589 25x12x10 mud tires. V-Force has no prob at all turnin that much rubber! Just installed 2 little spotlights up front for a lot more light and made my own headlight covers out of stainless steel mesh. I've heard about that Diamond G snorkel, does it really help that much and how much is it? V-Force is the best damn sport atv in my opinion. GO TEAM GREEN!!

Oh yea, to fix my tierod prob, after i bent the first tie rod, i straightened it and then took both my tie rods and welded a piece of angle iron onto both of them that was the full length of the rod, haven't bent one since. hahahahahaha.

The Diamond G snorkel is great...Just gives you a better throttle response. As for the tie-rods, Diamond G has them powder coated to match your V-Force...very nice looking. Happy has a set on his red V-Force.

my v force is an atomatic is it necesary to have a manual if u want to get into racing if so can an atomatic be converted n to manual? also where is the best place to buy all the parts?......

If you want amanual shift, get the KFZ400... All you need to be competitive with a V-Force is the Dalton clutch kit...put in the orange/blue spring and you'll be ripping it up. The V is not made to beat the crap out of 450s...it's a 550 beast...you want to win against a 450, you need to ride a 450... The V is competitive and in it's elements, it is faster then many 450s...pick your races wisely.

Well I have had mine since about 3 weeks after they 1st came out. I have had no problems what so ever and I ride very hard mountain trails here in north Georgia (red clay/mud, rocky tight and hilly trails). The only thing that there may be a problem with is the tie rods bending easily. I have bent them several times I will ussually straighten them out the 1st time they bend then replace them with new (7.00$ ea at ronayers.com) the second time they bend, I would reccomend just replacing them with new ones because 1) the aftermarket super impoved non bendable ones are like 70$ and 2) they are designed to bend as not to mess up the few hundred dollar steering stem. You must make sure they are tight on the control spindle and steering stem as I have seen others wollow out the steering stem and spindle from not being tight. Other then that I have had absolutely no problems what so ever. This is my 1st quad ever also and is very easy to handle as long as you know when to let out of it. I have flipped it a few times and the only thing that was broken or damaged was the right side wheel lips are bent but still holding air. I am 6'2" and weigh about 300lbs and this thing carries my big **** around just fine. Back to the tie rod thing I put a six pack rack on my V to carry a tool back just in case something happens and I need it, in the tool bag I carry 2 new tie rods and a wooden dowel I made so I can stick it in the front of the wheels to align it on the trail if need be I can change a tie rod and have it perfectly aligned in about 3 minutes on the trail. It handles very nice after you tighten up the suspension all the way. Have gone through mud, steep hills, rocky trails very easily. I absolutely love my V Force it has a nice ride, and is very easy to ride the fun factor is way up there. I wanted a auto tranny quad because I was a noob at the time but I also wanted a sport quad and this was definately the right choise for me. Go ride one at a local dealer along with other quads and see what you like. But I have no problems with mine its even got the original belt on it and it has never slipped. You can go through water up to the seat on it no problem.

Doc...I agree to a point on the tie-rods. Before the stem will bend, the tie-rod ends will go... I have yet to have any reports of Diamond G rods causing a steering stem to fail. The stock rods are simply too weak. They are designed for quads that are a lot lighter weight and mass... Diamond G tie-rods are being run in Baja and at the 12 Hours of ATV America... so if there was going to be any steering stem failures, I'm confident it would have already happened.
You made a very good point about the ends wollowing out the stem. Again just a design issue...If you switch over to using Honda EX 400 ends, that will help with that issue. Honda has a little bit better design on the stock ends.
