I spoke to service at Ray Wilts in Hanover PA and as luck would have it.... Bad Luck that is, they broke a carb. fitting and are overnighting in another one. It should be done tomorrow but who knows. All I know is that its 92 miles one way to get this unit. I should make it to Shamokin on Saturday. They didn't get a chance to test it and niether will I. What a crappy situation!!!

mine sputters and farts when its cold but when it warms up its fine.
but it still made a fluttering sound when ever i tryed to speed up and i asked my dealers macanic about it and he says it sounds like the belt is loose and thats why it flutters and sputters when i try to speed up.
i had them take a look at it and he made a few ajustments to the belt and now its fine.
this is just a thought but have you thought to check your belt tention.
like i said its just a thought.

Well mudblaster I can honestly say I have not checked the belt. I have checked everything else but that. Right now its still at Ray Wilts in Hanover PA. They called me this evening saying my bike was done and that they found the rear carb. bowl to be 1 mm. off of spec. They also said it does not backfire anymore. I will see tomorrow as I travel 92 miles to pick up the beast and drive 92 miles back. I am taking it to the farm to put it to the test!!! Will post results tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for your help!!! What a GREAT site!!!!

Be sure and give us the low-down on what all they found. Having a carb bowl 1mm out of spec is a new one. Never heard that one before. What carb part did they overnight? Hopefully they did all the recall bullitines while they had it?

Well I brought home the wounded BF750 and stop by the farm on the way home from Ray Wilts to see how they did in fixing the problem. I did noticed at Ray Wilts that they had taken a ton of measurements on both carbs. I had a chance to look at the service techs notes. I was thinking this time that if she still ran like crap it wasn't from lack of trying. Well I unloaded the quad, let her warm up and off throught the woods I went. I blipped the throttle several times and to my surprise it ran like a totally different bike. Not one miss or spit or sputter. So for now I am saying she is fixed. I am heading up to PA in 2 weeks to put her to the real test. Out come was that the rear carb. was over a mm low not allowing the carb to fill up hince starving under throttle. Makes since at this point. If anything changes I will post the results. Thanks to everyone for their help and insight and I hope this may shed some light on others who may be having the same problems. Now where did I put the Dyno-Jet kit and the CDI box???

I had a chance to take the beast out to a remote location and stretch it out over a long piece of roadway. It ran like its never run before. I just hope it stays like this. Thanks again to all and to the service guys at Ray Wilts of Hanoever PA (Nick, Andy, Mike) for taking the time to correct this issue even though the bike was not purchased there. What a good group of guys!!! Remember to Ride Safe and Ride Hard but just Ride!!!!!
