Kawasaki Mojave: Good and Bad
If the price is right and its in "good" shape, bearings, shocks, motor not smoking or leaking, I'd say OK -- but its tough to tell with a bike that old. We are talkin 20 years. Sounds crazy - check the airfilter, guys that fairly good at maintenance keep new/good air filters on their bikes oiled and relatively clean. the inside of the airbox is also and indicator of how deep its ever been in mud. Splashes are OK, high water marks aren't -- but all in all the Mojaves I've seen in the past were tough and could take a real beating - the owners have almost always remarked how reliable they were despite the abuse that had been put on them.

Well Iv'e been told to keep my comments to myself and questioned many times for my resoning so with that being said might I suggest entering "mojave" in the search category and read the questions that have come in over this forum and base your own opinion on what there good points and bad points are. Personaly I say go for it if it's in half way decent shape , sorry I just couldn't resist commenting.

I am still riding my 87 mojave and it runs great. You have to keep the valves adjusted or it will pull the valves through the head. Basically they did not change the bike through the years it was made. You can buy any used part you want for it on ebay. I would definitaly recommend it as a cheap fun bike. Have fun!
