Default Anyone "lifted" thier 650?

Has anyone lifted thier 650? If so, were there any chassis or other modifications that you had to do besides the lift kit? If you have, what benefit has it given you?

Thanks!

If I were you I would make one. I was pretty ticked when i received my perfex lift. 1 1/4"'s , it's a bracket for the back and two bolts for the front I paid $60 cdn. Try highlifters it's pretty nice. Rear is a body lift obviously, but the front gets clearance, so you just hafto drag the back over the bigger obstacles.

I made my own 1 1/4" lift kit and have had no problems. As Steelhead said, the Perfex kit looks crappy. I looked at it and decided that I would just make my own. Having access to a machine shop was handy!! It has helped quite a bit when riding in the snow. That little bit of extra clearance is all it takes sometimes. besides that, with the 26" 589s on it, it just looks cool!!!

Chucky, No pics dude, sorry. I don't have a digicam yet, but hopefully, Santa will get me one. I built 1 1/4 inch spacers that thread onto the top end of the struts that use the existing nut from the original strut. An easy thing to do if you have access to a metal lathe. On the rear end, I cut off the bottom end of the shock, made a piece about 1 1/2 longer than the stock one and welded it back together. Way more solid than those wimpy bolt on kits. The Highlifter kit looks pretty solid. If you want bolt on stuff, that is the one I would get.
