Default I think i broke my slide that holds the needle??

yeah so i took the needle out of the slide, been having trouble with the carb leaking so im checking everything, but i remember my pops was trying to help and pulled the needle straight out the bottom of the slide, well i put it back after cleaning it but the throttle wasnt raising the rpm's so i checked again this time squeezing down the spring and pulling out the needle from top, there were 2 little plates or holders that went on the needle, then i found a very small spring that was stretched out and all jacked up, im sure from my dad yanking out the needle, i just wanna see if i order a new slide is there actually a spring in the slide or what, cause now the needle just falls right thru.... any help would be cool i dont wanna let my dad know he already broke the drain screw on the carb oh yeah its a eton viper jr 40cc thanks

There is usually a "jesus" clip that holds the needle.
ie:: jesus clip::: when your putting it on and it slips and falls to the floor you yell::" Jesus" where did it go?!"
Yor dad is hard on things. LOL
