LT 80 clutch help
I am in need of some help. I am rebuilding the front clutch on a 2001 lt 80. Had to replace a bunch of parts. old rollers where beat up, clutch housing had deep grooves in it, oil seal and brass sleeve was in pieces. I'm not sure what caused this. The wheeler doesnt have 5 tanks of gas through it yet. On the reassemble, I read on this site that you need to pack the clutch with hi-temp grease. Is that the hole clutch( rollers and all ) or just from the inner plate out to the coverplate. Any help would be great, I dont want this to happen again. Could this have been a mistake the factory made, the clutch was very dry(no grease) when I took it apart. THANKS!!!!!!!!

just put grease in the slots where the rollers lay. The gease is to hold the rollers in place while you put it back together. If you bought the machine new in 2001 and this is the first time you have checked the clutches on it the roller can get sideways and flat shots that can cause damage, you need to check them more often.

There has been alot of problems with the new clutchs and that bushing breaking. I feel it's a factory problem. There should have been alot of grease in there.
Load the rollers up with grease and re-assemble.In stock form the LT's clutch's usually wear a long-long time.
