MIne did this - drove me crazy for several hours. Turned out to be a loose connection in the spark plug wire where it goes together into the right angle plug socket.

Does the bowl drain if you tun the drain screw - if it does, you have fuel and no vent issue. Sounds like she is running out fuel in the main curcit - idel and choke sound like thy work, but main does not. Clear that main out and the check for vacume leaks.

Sounds like you are getting dirt in your gas or filter is no good. If it ran 20 minutes the reeds got clogged again. Might need to do what I did and remove tank and slosh around until all small partials are out of the tank. I know the filter should be catching the small stuff but this fixed my problem. Also you might be sucking in too much trash past your intake filter. I had the same problem and it was just getting dusty and dirt was getting past a very old corroded and dry rotted filter. Mine is two cycle and it is very touchy when it gets dirty. After making sure fuel was clean and air intake was good and clean my son get hours out of one full tank. Anyway I hope this helps.

Welcome to the forums! You're answering an 11 year old post.. This machine is probably long dead now.. But posting on keeping up maintenance is something that never gets too old for people and their machines.. Again welcome.

I have a 2014 outlaw that had a melted throttle cable, we replaced the entire lever throttle assembly and now it doesn't want to go, it was fine about three months ago as far as trans wise, could the carb safety be wired backwards just kinda almost starts to go then doesn't go, it doesn't Rev to the moon runs awesome besides this issje

Original poster would have a two stroke, I suspect you are on about a four stroke? I don't know anything about these, but most likely cause of a melted throttle cable is the earth wire missing, or loose, between engine and frame. Doubt if that will have anything to do with your running problem, more likely to be clogged carb, but the earth wants fixing or it will do it again.
