LT 80 clutch help
#1
Hi, I'm needing to replace my daughter's clutch rollers on her quad, it's an '01. I noticed this last trip out that it will only go about 12 mph and revs to the moon. And the rollers have several flat spots on each one.
My problem is I'm not sure exactly what route to take. We ride mostly dunes but do take the paddle's off and throw on the dirt tires every now and then for playing in the field. It has an DG pipe and bigger carb, although i don't know how big, it was modified when we bought it.
So now what would the best setup be? Replace with stock parts or aftermarket? What weight and how many rollers? What about the secondary clutch? The drum looks pretty scored, but the shoes look to be ok. It would probably be a good idea to replace them all while its apart.
Basically I'd like to get some more top-end out of it so she can keep up with the big bikes better, but also have enough power to make it up some hills.
Thanks, Dave

Do a search for a forum member called LT80 ( his name is Jack) he will not only help you, but can make that LT80 keep up or beat some of your other quads !!!! I have heard nothing but good things about his work and knowledge with the LT80, and he has helped me out, back when I had one for my son/

Replace it all with stock stuff. Use all 6 rollers.
If the rear hub is grooved bad or warped, replace that as well.
You will not get more speed out of clutchs. We mofify the stock parts, no aftermarket parts for them.
I have a few motor out in the Oregon dunes. They love em.
