Replacing Reverse Gearbox on Dingo 150
#1
Finally got all the parts for this job. I will be taking pictures as I go, which will hopefully make it easier to troll for help should I need it : ). The pictures will go in my gallery as soon as I figure out what is causing this error when I try to upload them.
Error:#
Error processing CFX custom tag CFX_IMAGE. The CFX custom tag CFX_IMAGE was not found in the custom tag database. You must add custom tags to the database before using them. If you have added your tag to the database, check the spelling of the tag within your template to ensure that it matches the database entry.
The error occurred on line 61.

Looking forward to hearing all about the repair.
The picture error seems to be related to the forum being switched to new servers about 2-3 weeks ago. Not sure when its going to be fixed.

I'm interested in the pic's also. I'm wondering how many different reverse gear boxes are out there. I thought they were all the same on 150cc machines, but I've now seen at least one that is different from my hensim 150.
I've also been trying to upload pic's to my gallery with the same error message as you. I'm just going to wait a couple weeks and try again.

Ok the pictures are up now (Just go to my gallery) and I will continue to add them as I repair the quad (IF I can repair the quad!). I still don't understand how this happened. You can see the little edge of my driveway that Chris was jumping. I don't understand how this cracked his gearbox!

Your gearbox is definately different from mine. My output shaft comes out the middle of the box. I'm told it has a planetary gear set inside.
Was your chain too tight? On my quad the chain tightens up as the suspension travels toward bottoming out. I have to always leave 3/4" play when sitting. If the chain is already tight unloaded then something has got to give when the suspension moves up.

Well since I can't think of any other way that this could happen, Im going to have to assume that you are right. Once I get the thing back together maybe you can give me some tips on how to adjust the chain so this NEVER happens again. Maybe you can take a picture of what your chain looks like without you sitting on the quad.

I agree with LynnEdwards..if the chain was too tight.. Like EVERYONE Ive ever seen From China. That could snap that rear casing easily.
At the Chinese ATV factory I was in last summer...the over tight chain was one of the first things I showed the workers. They thought the chain had to be tight to be correct. Most likely why they were tightening the chain adjusters with a impact gun.
