Default Heard the belt squeel on the eton Viper 90r

My son was running through some deep water and I did hear the belt squeel. My question is what do I need to check/do in order to prevent this from happening again...besides the obvious (don't go through deep water). Thanks in advance.

twister500,
Sorry for the late response...but my son's is a 06 (the last year they made the 2 stroke i think) and the squeel was from the cvt belt? I was wondering is there any way that I can do for added security rather than the obvious of not running in water.

not much you can do to seal up the clutch since it will heat up but if it only happens once in a while the belt should be fine as long as you let it dry out before running it more. also make sure that the filter under the black plastic housing is oiled like the air filter.

There's a small often overlooked filter on the front of the transmission housing. I'd bet yours is plenty dirty (and wet).

Take it off and if you have a compressor, blow some air in there to dry things out and you should be fine.

Our Polaris is in storage at the moment, so I don't have access to it to look, but if memory serves, it's behind a plastic shroud. The parts fiche @ BikeBandit.com should shed some light on it.
