How did you get one so fast?
I think they only make them on the east coast, and those dealers are not getting them fast enough.
Where do you take it for repairs or maintanance??
I would like one but who knows how to work on one?
Does it have a good air box and filter combo?
Does it have a rev. limiter?

OK I will give it a shot. Yes I had problumns right off, hard starting, sometimes fired right off next time forget it! Was going to take it back to the dealer but being the first around I would know as much as they did (not much). 1 mile on it an I disasambled it. It had the wrong size clip from coil driver to coil. Starts like a dream now.
Fast, well I said on my first post 8 weeks ago "RACING GAS ONLY" I use VP/C12. Maybe thats the differance. Might have a sensor to pick up pinging for timing like computers on cars.
Rev limiter. Yes,an thank GOD! Revs so quick I'am still hitting it every now and then in the lower gears. The owners manual says "max. rpm 10500" I don't know, I think it lower then that.
The trans is the smoothest of anything I have ever driven. Any gear, any rpm, up shiff, down shiff, never have to use the clutch, you will be just wasting your time.
I can,t wait for better weather so I could put it on the trails and not just ripping on the roads. Then I will know if it a good quad or a great quad. What short time on the trails,I setup the shocks for the woods, not mx jumps like the factory settings. Its a good air quad the way they had it set. Had a few 4and5 foot jumps and you almost couldn't tell it landed.

Thanks for the info. Racerjim! I have heard of some starting problems and I wondered if you had experienced it. I am really excited about this quad and starting and reliability is my only concern. Please keep us updated as you get more seat time.

 

By chance, were you in Indiana on 3/31 (Saturday)? Just wondering, I tried to get some info out of a guy I saw riding a FX 400.

No that wasn't me. I was at Shenango in Pa. all afternoon. Got to ride for about 4hr. and sat around a hour talking quads with a group of guys from Ytown Oh. Sunday rode the rails to trails in Trumbull county, about 30mile ride. I like riding there plus I only live a mile away, just jump on my quad and ride it there.

Racerjim,,you were at shenago saturday? I didn't see you and was looking because you said you rode there. I wanted to see it. I am going to be up there Saturday, let me know if your going. I ride a red 400ex. I dont want to race you or anything, just check it out and see what you think of it.

 

If I go any where this saturday it will be Wellsvill. Sunday my son will be racing the Cannondale at Pymatuning mx race. He rides a shee but he doesn't thing the shocks are up to it. This will be his first race so it will be fun to watch.

I wouldn't mind going to wellsville either this weekend. But the stock 400ex tires aren't haveing it. I would probably come back with 4 flat tires. Well have fun and hope to see you around.
