There is an Arenacross race on Oct.26 at the MSU HorsePark Arena in Starkville,MS

The classes are the same as last year. Pro and Amateur. Last year, we had over 35 quads show up, so the classes were broken down even farther to allow room on the gate for each race.

The classes last year were:
0-250cc Amateur
251cc-up Amateur
Pro [unlimited displacement]

We had an incredible turn out last year of both bikes and quads and expect even more this year...especially in the quad classes.

We also had nearly 5,000 specators attend.

If you guys would like to attend, just call me and i will fax you a flyer as soon as i get them. I should have them by the end of the week.

Look forward to seeing you guys there!!

Yeah, arenacross would be awesome to ride in or even just watch. Hey, AlaskaYFM; you ever make it to Anchorage to ride? JIM

Alaska,

I'm sure that EdSmith, a fellow forum member here will post plenty of pics as he did last year if he gets to attend this year.

I believe he is in a conflict right now on whether or not racing the arenacross or heading to MA for the GNCC that weekend.

He works with me at Village Cycle Center, so I will know ahead of time hopefully.

Hey Jim,

No, I wasn't able to make to get my quad up to Anchorage this summer (Alaska Marine Highway system schedule didn't really permit it). It is still in Cordova, although I did ride it a bunch while I was home. I'm not sure if I am going to sell it this fall or not, because I'm going to want to ride next summer after I get done with grad school and move back to Alaska. There isn't any engineering in Cordova so I'm sure I'll end up in Anchorage or somewhere close.

I'm actually kind of glad that I don't have my quad down here in Virginia, because it would be kind of a pain to tow it all the way back with my Jeep. Been there, done that, and I don't want to do it again!!!

Like I said before... I want my next quad to be a Cannondale (preferrebly a Blaze-type machine). We'll see what they have come out for '04...

So how was the series this year in Anchorage? Did the number of entries increase at all??

Tom

AlaskaYFM,
Yeah, the series was a big success if you ask me. First year racing quads and we had a consistent 9 or 10 guys in the class show up near the end of the season. Looks like next year might turn out to be better yet. Good luck with your schooling, hope to meet you up here one day.

BTW, here is a link to some pics of the 55 foot infield double at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, quads weren't even attempting to jump this one before this year, the runway is JUST long enough to get the speed to clear the jump for a quad.........Kincaid double pics

Kip,

I will be sure to send you the info when I get it in my hands. Hopefully, by the end of the week.

It would be great if all you South Mississippi Cannondale riders came up.

In the past, this race has been mostly dominated by $15,000+ 400EXs as far as signups go. Along with your usual tricked out 250Rs and a couple of Raptors.

This year, there will be a couple of Cannondales and Z400s thrown into the mix.

I'll send you the info as soon as I can. Hope that you guys get to come up.
