What is really going on in Michigan

So just because we buy a ORV sticker/license, we have no say what will happen with orv use? Unless we join some super secret club?

Years ago, I complained about the fact that parents we're being charged $25 to simply attend their child's safety classes here in Michigan. The president of that atv club (with all his merry men you've witnessed here in lock-step even "how dare you question the mighty Oz" agreement) suggested that I take up a collection for these parents (and give it to him) if I was so darn worried about the fact that he was obviously gouging the general public.
That president and every leader that has followed him has had the attitude that Michigan orv issues were something to be discussed behind closed doors or at the very least at orv advisory board meetings where nothing but ONE-WAY debate was to be allowed.(in other words, show up every 3 months so that we may tell you what we have already done; while we sit back with absolutely no obligation to answer any questions as to why we did it).
Believe me; the minute these bozos heard absolutely no noise from anyone in the community concerning the reduced the number of meetings, the loss of our stenographer, the cancelled meetings or the denial of properly requested speaking time to lowly peons such as myself...they quit worrying about whether any of you gave a damn about anything.
Sad, but true.

Again, the comment above says a lot about this atv club's overall attitude and why so many good people have been scared away by same over the years.
I understand 2-Trakkr not caring whether the atv community represents itself like this...yet where are the rest of these guys/gals in this club and why do they day-after-day refuse to tell the world whose 'master' they now answer to? (The AMA/CCC or those of us out here dare questioning how these groups operate here in Michigan?).

Apparently so. Guess were all just ignorant peons and our opinion(s) does'nt matter.

Not to worry, 2-Trakkr will be back in here shortly to artfully explain how fellow club member Muddy really feels and how actually "ignorance is bliss" when it comes to being uninformed through secret meetings and anonymous representation.

OK. Someone has to be able to give me answer to this question. Since the new trail mileage seems to be a foregone conclusion (the whole 750 miles by 2008) where is it going? Are they going to give us a riding area closer to the metro detroit area? Or are they going to put these trails in the U.P. where only the Beverly Hillbillies can get to them?
Thanks
Thanks

The last I heard from the DNR, they were looking to the User groups for input. If you have suggestions and do not belong to a Club that shares your views, it would be best to submit your ideas directly to the DNR.

By being in a Club or other organization you can convey your views to that Club which can then communicate them to the DNR.

The groups that form the MMRC have come up with some suggestions which will be presented at the next ORV Advisory Board meeting.
