Recession Over?

So now they want to hand out another 2 billion for the CARS program?
Ok, I drive a 95 Ranger with over 250k miles on it. Passes the emission tests every year, it's not an eyesore and runs just fine. I don't want a new truck, or any new problems that go along with it.
But this money they are proposing, where is it coming from?
Why do I get the idea my tax dollars are now going towards buying someone else a new car?

Ummm, because that is exactly the case. The money (that they don't actually have at this time) is or will be coming from tax revenues. In other words; not only have they already spent your tax dollars on idiotic programs, they are also spending your (And if you have any; your kid's) tax dollars in the future. So, we are going to be spending money on a moronic program and charge it against future tax revenues. Or, maybe we'll just borrow some more from China.

I predict that a high percentage of these folks that traded in their CLUNKERS will be getting their new cars repossessed in the not too distant future.
This program is way to similar to the program that caused the housing CRISES. Give people a way to buy something they can't afford in the first place and then take them all back and leave them with nothing but worse credit than they had in the first place! JMO!

I would have much rather seen the money they're giving away used to fix the cars people were trading in. First off, if the cars are tuned properly, the emissions aren't going to be a problem. If they are, then tell India to get their pollution under control. Second, they've got a an efficient running car now, so they'll save money on gas. That money can go back into the economy. Third, they don't have a car payment. See reason two as to where that money can go.
And all the ads on tv keep saying you could get 4500 dollars, but they sure run that small print by awful fast.
