Default fav muscle car

Hey man, I built a Pinto engine once, a 2300 bored .030, ported head, 11-1 compression, big nasty solid lifter cam, adjustable cam timing wheel, 600 Holley, 1 5/8 primary header. Sucker made some power and sounded like a funny car.

Well, it wasn't in a Pinto however it was in a sand rail..........

Back in the 80's we used to have a dead end road that for years the cops let us use for racing and some stupid people ruined it for everyone. They went out there one night when nobody was there and they rolled the car because they were drunk. That ended it for everyone and if any groups of cars gathered there the cops would block the road and stop every single car no matter what it was and check all the lights and stuff. If anything was wrong it was a ticket.

Anyhow, Your post reminded of a little ford courier pickup with a buit 4 cylinder in it. That little truck was keeping up with some pretty quick small blocks and even beating some.

On another note my buddy had a 69 nova with a 327 that he put slicks on and was keeping up with a 69 super bee full race car with wrinkle walls and all and that had a 440 and 2- 4's. That fastest car I ever seen down there was a 69 Camaro with a 427 and nitrous and that tied a 1000 cc Honda hurricane motorcycle 3 out of three races. That has to be approaching a 10 second car.

They were the ultimate sleeper. I can't vouch for this, but I have heard that with a straight through exhaust sytem and slicks they will run low 11's.....lets see anything with a hemi do that!
Ding Ding Ding.....we have a winner. The ZL1 is the baddest car ever made. If I am not mistaken, only 88 were made. You can talking about a million dollar car there.

That was an awesome sleeper car - swivel seats for comfort and very discreet ss badges.

My all time faves are the 68-70 "big bad" amx with the 390 go-pack option.

Love those!
