Couldn't help but notice the news shots of all the people in Kenya dancing since he won.

So, how much aid will they be applying for now?

What is it with the communist thing? McCain campaign started that and I can't seem to make a connection between Democrat --&gt; communist? How is the government going to take away our freedom?

Do you know the definition of it? Very close to socialism. "Spread the wealth"

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>What is it with the communist thing? McCain campaign started that and I can't seem to make a connection between Democrat --&gt; communist? How is the government going to take away our freedom? </end quote></div> When asked about his tax plan this was Obama's answer. <div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance at success, too... My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. If you've got a plumbing business, you're gonna be better off [...] if you've got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody's so pinched that business is bad for everybody and I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody.</end quote></div> Instead of private charity where you or I help out someone less fortunate, Obama's idea is to confiscate (By government dictate. You would have no choice in the matter) an extra portion of the money you earn as a successful small businessman to give to someone else. If that is not communistic I don't know what is. It is better to say, "Come on up here, get an education, work hard, make something of yourself", than it is to say, "That's okay if you want to stay down in the low wage earners, here's some money I took from a hard worker". His plan would also give a "refund" to people who don't even pay taxes to begin with. That's like giving a ticket to someone when a baseball game gets rained out that didn't buy a ticket to the game in the first place.

I see but, the way I understand that (and other things I've read) is that his plan is to tax the more wealthy (&gt;250K)(This includes large corporations where currently get all kinds of tax breaks) so less fortunate (&lt;250K) can get the tax breaks. E.G. "Bottom Up".

McCain and Republicans in general say. Take care of the business and wealth and they'll take care of the workers. Which has not worked in the last 8 years.

But, still Communism???? That is not communism my friends.

So what do you call taking money from the people who earned it and giving it to people who want it? Socialism... Maybe?

It is part of Socialism yes, the part where government has a hand in the economy. People seem to forget we live in a Democratic Socialist mixed economy. In true Democracy we would have no intervention at all. No welfare, no food stamps, no government funded programs at all. Ask the thousands of people who have been laid off all over the country and they'll say that these programs are a good thing.

It's not like anybody will come take your extra car and give it to your poor neighbor. I earn my money too and I'll get a tax break on what little I earn in this small town in Oklahoma. Which will help in this poor economic time. You earn your hundreds of thousands and get taxed SLIGHTLY more and nothing changes.

Things don't "trickle up", and not to mention our very bottom in this country isn't worth a sh*t. It is harder for some than others, I don't believe it's fair but that's life, but anyone in this country can make anything of themselves if they are hungry enough! The "bottom" isn't hungry because we the working people feed them to easily. If you think there isn't a great amount of people out there who simply are to lazy to work, then you are blind my friend.

To steal a quote from someone on the forums, "I like having rich people around me, I've never worked for a poor person."

And I don't see how the gov't not trying to make everyone equal is not communism. Being equal sounds nice, and when it comes to race I believe we are all equal, but the truth is we are not all equal. Everyone is different. Some are hungrier than others. The most hungy usually is the most successful.

What ever happened to "Lets not ask what you country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"? I'm not even half way to making 6 figures a year, and I think taxing more on the 250k+ people and giving it to lazy people is ridiculous.
