Default my custom made rotopax mounts (pics!)

my new rotopax tanks arrived today- can-am racks suck to mount anything on- universal never work out- so made up some custom brackets this evening

the orientation:

the template:

cutting & grinding into shape (I really need to buy a plasma cutter )

polishing:

welding the tank mount on the bracket (didn't want to mess around with nuts & bolts )

painting:

brackets bolt on using the original rack mounting bolts; no need to ruin your rack by drilling hole in it for studs!

finished

if anyone would like me to mail them my template (works on all 2012+ outlanders) just ask

Nice job. It looks heavy duty and I like that you used the existing bolt holes.

thanks jf

very heavy duty- 10 ga steel (just under 1/8" thick!) and thankfully rotopax also uses mild steel for their mounts- so welding was a no-brainer vs. drilling the rack trying to accommodate the mounting hardware.

the universal rotopax mounts are really useless on these new outlander racks- the racks have so many cut-outs and slants, that finding an asymmetrical spot to bolt the rotopax mount to is impossible, and I wasn't looking to drill big holes all over the my new outlander's rack!

so, using the pre-drilled factory holes with longer 10mm bolts made installing them a breeze- and they can be removed without having any damage to the rack.

I can't send you a message, but any chance you still have the template?
