Default new belt ??

I just put a new belt on my 400 scrambler and it won't shift right... Just wants to wind out, let off a bit and give it gas again and it shifts. Seems like the more I ride it , the better its getting... does a new belt sometimes take a break in period?

They do require some break in. I know all the quads I have put new belts on also wanted to creep a bit. Took a good hard ride or two and they were great. I was also using after market belts.

You are actually suppose to scrubb a new belt in soapy water. They have a residue on them from the factory. They also do need to be broken in like Fishslab said

Like fishslab said it can take a ride or two but if it takes more than that I would think you have some other probs. A good inspection of the primary clutch may be in order check the sheevs for a wear groove this can cause the prob. your haveing.
