Just got back from talking to my dealer he got back this morn from RENO!!!!Well you can put your money back in the sock, there is no 700sp yet.He said that the KAW 650 is one sweet machine!!!!!He said that there was a demo where they had buried small poles on end and they stuck up in the air say 6inches I really don't know.Ran over them with Sportsman and rider stayed smooth, then ran it with another brand that shall stay unnamed as I don't HONDA guy's mad at me.But the IRS vs the straight axle ,there was no comparision.Wish he would have told me something I didn't know already, and wish he hadn't told me no 700.BUMMER CM

Jon, when "Shoeless Joe" Jackson emerged from the courtroom, after being indicted for accepting a bribe to throw the World Series, a young Chicago White Sox (aka "Black Sox") fan approached and said, "Say it ain't so, Joe!"

No 700 sp? Say it ain't so, ChickenMan!

Or, "If you build it, they will come!" (from "Field of Dreams").

P.S. No offense intended, Polaris fans; I welcome the appearance of new models and innovations from all manufacturers.

I can tell you one thing, I got an email from Polaris telling me that a Manual shift Sportsman was not something that Polaris was working on. Also that they had no plans to come out with one at this point. Basically, that sealed up any worries that I might get an HO and then next year see the manual that I wanted introduced.

If Polaris came out with a 700 next year, there would be some realled 'angry' 500HO owners. Pluse it would really hurt the sales of the HO. If the new Kawasaki beast takes off, then a year from now you can bet Polaris will announce a 700cc monster of their own.

SNOW hi GUY got that sled yet?we had snow last week and can still see it in the hills.I know there were some tough souls that went last week.Yes the 700 will put crimp on 500 but there are the ones that will still stick with it.But same thing with sleds They came out with Ultra then the next year the 700RMK and the 600 RMK,now the 800 RMK,sales are strong on all of them something for every one.I know people that the 600 is plenty for and some that wouldn't go for the 800 but happy with 700.I would imagine that if and when it'll be like sleds, you could take hood off 600 and put on 800 and switch most other parts only diff is the motor.I would think the quads would be the same just switch motors.CM

i agree with chickeman,

the sp700 is for the person who has to have it all, im sure that yamaha has a bigger grizley planed, so it can compete with the sp500ho. but then thers the kawie 650, this is serious compition to the sp500ho, especially in power. i would expect there to be a big price difference between the 500ho and 700. not everone can spend $7500 to $8000 on a quad.

CM,

I have narrowed the field to a Mountain Max or a RMK, 700cc. For 2001 Yamaha doesn't offer the three year warrenty, they offer a one year just like everyone else. I can get the RMK for $450 lessr than the Yamaha. The best deal I could get on a RMK is $6702 + doc fee ($50) no set up or freight. I believe that this is a good price. I hope to have one by the end of the month, there are several open house going on in the upcoming weeks plus the Washington state snowmobile expo & swap meet.

No snow here, yet. Soon when the rains begin, the snow will start falling in the mountains.

I can't wait
