depending the amount you are going to charge, then yes there is a market. for me being someone having to replace my primary, i would have much rather had it rebuilt as long as there was a warranty/guarantee with it. this is all my opinon though. pb500
I second that.

I rebuilt the primary on my 1994 400L earlier this year following instructions in the Haynes manual! All works fine, but setting the torque to 200 ft lbs wasn't easy!

It was in pieces when i bought it... the clown who I bought it off took it down to the last nut and bolt for some reason, just because the piston was broke!

I'm actually thinking of offering a rebuild service, part time, for Polaris owners over here in the UK for all parts of Polaris quads... the Polaris and other ATV dealers charge stupid amounts to do work on these machines but I buy all my parts from the US direct and save £££££s (or $$$$s!)

For example a .040" rebore and new piston was quoted at around £350 ($660)... I had the rebore done to exact specs by a local machine shop and bought a Wiseco piston online and did the whole job for under £100 ($189).

Sorry I'm just babbling now, because I'm sat in work wishing I was out on my quad!

Most creeping I have experienced , or even read about is due to the clutches being out of alignment, and its usually huugging the motor side on the primary. Adding a Shim behind the secondary completely fixes this and costs about 10 bucks., and 20 minutes.
Replacing a primary clutch for creeping seems a bit extreme.

The problem with a EBS clutch creeping is caused by shims that are worn. And alow the belt to catch and rub on ether side of the primary sheve. All you need to do is change the shims in the pimary clutch and you problem is fixed. I have replace many with this problem and fixed them for around $80 parts and labor. The way to tell you need the shims replaced is to check the side to side play in the pull in the bottem of the primary sheve, it should only be around .040 max any more it will catch the bext cog on the belt and hold it up agaist ether side of the sheve. If you have the tools to take the primary apart you can do it your self for around $5.00.
