Default starter solenoid

I have a 05 sp700. Iwas playing with it today and went to start it and nothing happened. The battery has plenty of power but the machine will not turn over. The wire from the ignition has power when you turn the key, so I am guessing the solenoid went south. Any one have the same problem or any idea is there is anything else to look for? There goes riding for today

I checked all the wires and grounds and everything seemed fine. A bunch of us had a chance to go riding today because of the holiday so we figured it was only a little rain

All the power stays on. If you jump the solenoid the motor starts right up. Everything else seems to workfine. Once it is running everything is normal. So I am guessing the solenoid went south unless there is a saftey switch somewhere I dont Know about.
We where going up to the fairview sportsmen club on turkey hill road

kill switch off or on? Silly question I know. But I know a few that had the switch off.
