On the newer models, whether carb or EFI, if the battery is COMPLETELY dead, you CAN NOT pull start it. Don't quote me on this but I think this started in '04 maybe. If I remember right the newer design allowed a stronger charging system. The trade off was that if the battery is low, even too low to crank it over, it will still usually pull start; but not if it's completely dead.

I have three buddies with Grizzlies and none them can be pull started. On another site I asked another Griz owner if he can pull start his.....the answer was no. Maybe I'll post the question over in the Yamaha forum and see what we come up with. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
