I was able to get two smaller c clips on the shaft with the special snap clip tool. It worked well. I rode for about 3 miles without and issue. I put everything beack together and it seems good to go for now. Thanks for everyones help!

The groove was good. It was ncie and deep. Yeah, I guess the c clip is also called a snap ring. There are also E clips as well, but not for this. Those pliers are really nice to have. Well worth the $$ I spent for them.

Thanks stendori. I finally went through my first mud puddles with it today and it did well for a 2WD. I like the look of it all muddy now, looks much better than clean in my garage. Hopefully it will last me through the season without any more problems until I can afford a Sportsman 500.

Good advice on the grease. When I get it really muddy I always wash it off and then grease everything. The TB is good for me, especially seeing it is my first ATV. My next one will be a Sportsman 500.
