Yep. I had VERY hot CV's last trip out. This time everytime I stopped, I gave the quad a GOOD "shakedown". CV's NEVER got hot. just a little warm! I had my laser temp tool, but didn't even bother using it. CV temp was never a concern, Plus this is with one of the outers being brand new. I replaced the outer left whole cv. I wonder how it needed to "break-in" and never got hot, but Gorilla told me last time they got hot, because they had to break in. Very inconsistancy with Gorilla axles and there company support. My buddy and I have been told 2 different stories on more than one occasion from them. Just seems to be a poor company through and through!

dont know about a poor company but they sure advertise well! my buddy just (tonite) stuck a set of 28" 589s on his 700grizz so another candidate for "better" axles is born!. I have been thinking(procrastinating) about taking a axle into a local shop and seeing if they can come with a strong , maybe a bit longer axle/cv shaft.Gorrilla seem to great for mud running but I also do a lot of trail riding at (sport) speed.

If you have just fitted the new exhaust and the backfiring started then I reckon you have an air leak into the new pipe oxygen entering the pipe can cause the unburnt fuel therein to ignite especially if the throttle is snapped open and shut, check for an exhaust leak and also check exhaust emissions for oxygen content. hope this helps.
