i think you'll find that most of the after market helix are dual angle for that reason.

Yes the Helix does help with the power at different rpm's. Check out the tech tips on EPI's webpage. It tells you about how the angles and stuff work on the Helix.

Default EPI CLUTCH KIT

Well I got the new spring in from from EPI the other day and tonight I got the new spring in. Let me tell you one thing, what a difference a spring makes. I took the utility black spring out and put a maroon spring in it. I can now pull out on the blacktop and nail the throttle and it spins the 27's for about one turn and then pulls the front wheels. It now doesn't hit the rev limiter as the heavy utility spring did and doesn't rev as high while riding down the trail. Krista at EPI said the spring that I had at first was for pure work and not meant for the trail at all. EPI had great customer service and support. I'm well pleased now with the whole kit and setup.
