When you had the carb off did you look at the slide assy and make sure the rubber diaphragm doesn't turn freely on the slide? is it possible the driven clutch buttons broke, or the snap ring came off the ramp? Did you unplugg the reverse limiter?</end quote></div>
i agree w/ harley that it could be either one of those issues. afterall hes a polaris mechanic.

if it is bogging could it be lack of fuel? bad fuel pump? does the pump work off the crank case pulse? if so are any of the lines pinched going to and from teh fuel line? did you take off teh fuel cap and see if will run with it off it may have a clogged vent line in the tank.

I'm not sure if you have fixed the problem or not but try having a look at the fuel strainer in the tank. I have a 600 Sportsman that would start and run like a champ but ran out of power around 1/2 throttle. I found the mesh strainer in the tank kinked over. The bike would take off if I taped off 3/4 of the air filter (essentially reducing the amount of fuel required). After MUCH testing, tinkering and checking, I drained the tank and pulled the fuel bulk head out and found the strainer kinked. Removed the strainer and no more issue!!

I bet your rig is still more powerful than an average artic cat....
according to the troubleshooting section of the book for "engine has low power"
* spark plug fouled
* cylinder, piston, ring, or valve wear or damage-check compression (this is my
bet, compression should be around 90 psi...i think)
* PVT not operating properly
* restricted exhaust, muffler
* carburetor vacuum slide sticking/diaphram damaged
* ignition timing incorrect
* dirty carburetor
