Default Service manual - Haynes or Factory?

2006 Polaris Sportsman HO

Trying to figure which manual is best. Looking for details on normal maintenance
and repair. The factory service manual is about twice the price of the
Haynes H2508. Anyone have both to compare against? I realize the Haynes
covers many models so I assume it will be lacking details in some places.
Just wanted to make sure it wasn't too vague/general.

Thanks!

I've used Clymer and Haynes for automobiles, but always the factory manual for motorcycles and ATVs.

thats a no brainer in my book..all of them aftermarket manuals are not worth reading, a plain wast of money..buy the factory manual and you will save the $50.00 off your first repair.. ia am a tech buy trade and i feel there is nothing better than a oem manual..

I have both. The Factory one has good details but the other has clearer pictures and tells a few more secrets on things.

I have to say the $47 I spend on the factory manual was money well spent and the aftermarket manuals I have used in the past, while helpful, just couldn't be as specific and detailed while trying to cover several models/years.

Try Ebay for the factory manual to save a few bucks.

I bought the Haynes, used it, then gave it to a friend and bought the factory one, I didn't save any money on that deal.
