Once you locate the voltage reg.. the process is quite simple. There should be three yellow wires coming from the stator. One should have a red stripe on it. If their not they colors ..no alarm. One set of wires will come from stator and the other will head up towards instruments/battery. Take a volt meter and set it up to read 20amps. find the three wires coming from the stator. meter across each wire to one of the other two loooking for at least 7 amps plus( the manual for my 04 600 call for 7amps and I actually had 13 amps at idle and 20 amps as I increased the RPMS). Do this to each wire to one of the others. If you are getting the required amps here acroos all three wires.....its not the stator. Now, with the ignition off and a fully charged battery, find the red wire coming from the battery to the voltage reg. Set your meter to read 20 VDC. Meter across battery terminals and take note of this voltage. Now meter the red wire coming to the voltage reg. It should be the same as what you read across the battery terminals. If the voltage is there and the same>>>>>VOLTAGE REG is bad........This is how I solved my charging issue.......If you go to a Polaris dealer web site.. they should have a parts lookup function.... The pictures in the parts manual will show you where the voltage reg is located.........

I looked at a couple of online parts books and couldn't find it either. They might havea different name for it being its an EFI
Regulator at front of machine. Shows part # 4011925 if built before 1/22/07 OR # 4011565 if built after 1/22/07. Havent checked,BUT may supercede to latest part number. Usually does when have changes made during middle of production run!
