Default sportsman 700 timing

I have a 2000 sportsman 700 and it cranks as if the ignition timing is too far advanced. It has new starter and new battery. Any ideas?

Default sportsman 700 timing

Well there's no such thing as a 2000 sportsman 700, so you may want to check to see exactly what you have... But, I was having a very similar problem with my 02 700. It would crank about a half a revolution then come to a stop, and was near impossible to start. Turns out it was the crank bearings, it was just that hard for the starter to turn the motor over. It exhibited symptoms very similar to starting something with too much timing.
