Default 07 Sportsman 800 efi IDLE

I was wondering what a prefered idle would be. right now mine is right about 1000 rpm. All gears shift great at this idle but it does seem to be a little high by ear. Also, Is there a Computer you can buy to hook to the machine instead of taking it to the Stealership or a way to adjust the idle without a computer (not by adjusting the thumb throttle either) Thanks

My '05 700 idles right around 1150...Have you changed the air filter recently and cleaned the throttle body....Both being dirty will affect the RPM's...

1100-1200 rpm sounds about right for most of the popo's. If it's EFI the only way I know to adjust the calibrations other than the dealer is to get something along the lines of a power commander/ or other brand fuel optimizer that you can adjust.

Never thought of a Power commander Thanks I was trying to Lower my RPM's but I guess i'll keep it right where it is. It just sounded (by ear) high to me

popo's idle high. that's within normal idle range. I would leave it right where it is.

Thank you very much for all your input. I never had a 4 wheeler before this. Mostly road dirt bikes my whole life. I'm sure I will have plenty more questions to come :-)

just remember w/ the 800's, (twins) to keep the radaitor clean(both front and back) if you go mudding to prevent over heating and that the harder you play the more gas it drinks.

Im not to rough on it yet. It doesn't even have 30 miles on it and mostly been pulling the kids on sleds behind it around the yard . Although I have been practicing getting the front wheels up off the ground Thanks for the Radiator tip. I'll be sure to watch for that if I get it in the mud which I'm sure I will. We have lots of two tracks and ORV trails here in Michigan. I plan on having years of fun
